Rep. Nick Santucci | Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber
Nick Santucci is a Howland native and the Republican candidate for State Representative in the 64th District. Nick is a graduate of Howland High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from John Carroll University in 2013.
Growing up, Nick learned the value of hard work from working with his grandfathers, one a union bricklayer and the other a barber. His passion for public service and his community was sparked at a young age and has driven him towards dedicating his career to serving the Mahoning Valley.
He serves as the Senior Consultant for Workforce & Community Engagement at VAZA Consulting. Prior to joining VAZA Consulting, Nick was the Director of Government Affairs and Workforce Development at the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio. In this role, he was responsible for advocacy efforts, actively working with the state & federal government to ensure the Mahoning Valley’s educational interests are represented in Columbus.
Nick previously served as the Director of Government & Public Affairs at the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and led advocacy efforts by the Chamber’s Government Affairs Council, a group of business leaders that promotes the policy priorities of the Valley’s business community. Nick also organized the Chamber’s Columbus Drive-In and Washington DC Fly-In events. His efforts in planning and executing both events were recognized with the Ohio Economic Development Association’s 2019 Marketing and Communication Award.
The Columbus Drive-In resulted in $3.6 million from the state operating budget being awarded to Mahoning Valley priorities like upgrades to Youngtown Air Reserve Station, America Makes, and cleaning up the Mahoning River. In 2020, Nick replicated this success and secured an additional $1.25 million to help Weathersfield Police combat the opioid crisis, provide training resources for Valley firefighters through the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, renovate Stambaugh Auditorium, and support OH Wow! Children’s Center.
