State Rep. Nick Santucci | The Ohio House of Representatives
Majority Whip Nick Santucci, a Republican from Niles, has announced his recent appointment to four committees under the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) and the Midwestern Legislative Conference (MLC). These appointments were made by Speaker Matt Huffman.
Representative Santucci expressed his honor at being appointed to these roles. He stated, "I’m honored to be appointed by Speaker Matt Huffman to these committees and to represent Ohio on a national level through the National Conference of State Legislatures and the Midwestern Legislative Conference." He emphasized the importance of these roles in ensuring Ohio's voice is heard and in collaborating with colleagues nationwide. He aims to bring back innovative ideas for strengthening policy areas such as education, economic development, and workforce readiness. Santucci added, "I look forward to sharing Ohio’s success stories, learning from others, and collaborating to advance meaningful solutions to unique problems each state may be facing."
The committees Representative Santucci will serve on include:
- NCSL Standing Committee on Budgets and Revenue
- NCSL Standing Committee on Education
- NCSL Standing Committee on Labor and Economic Development
- MLC Economic Development and Infrastructure Committee
Founded in 1975, the NCSL serves all 50 states in America as well as commonwealths, territories, and the District of Columbia. Its mission is to enhance the effectiveness of legislatures while fostering interstate cooperation.
The MLC represents legislators from 11 states including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin as well as Saskatchewan in Canada. It is part of the Council of State Governments which promotes excellence in state governance through communication and networking.
