Majority Whip Nick Santucci, a Republican from Niles, has been appointed to two significant roles in Ohio. He will serve on the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review (JCARR) and the Ohio Holocaust and Genocide Memorial and Education Commission.
JCARR was established by the Ohio General Assembly in 1977. Its main task is to review proposed rules from over 100 agencies to ensure they do not exceed their rule-making authority as granted by the General Assembly.
The Ohio Holocaust and Genocide Memorial and Education Commission was formed in December 2020. It consists of 15 members appointed by the Governor. The Commission's responsibilities include gathering educational resources related to the Holocaust and genocide, promoting awareness of these issues, and advising state government officials.
Representative Santucci expressed his gratitude for these appointments: “I’m honored to be appointed to both JCARR and the Ohio Holocaust and Genocide Memorial and Education Commission,” he said. “I’m grateful to the Speaker and the Governor for entrusting me with these important responsibilities. These roles reflect two critical missions: ensuring transparency and accountability in government rulemaking and promoting education and awareness of the Holocaust and other genocides. I look forward to serving the people of Ohio through both efforts.”
