State Rep. Nick Santucci | The Ohio House of Representatives

On January 3rd, I was officially sworn in as your state representative. I am humbled to have your support and look forward to serving the families of Wayne County at the Ohio Statehouse.

Recently, my House colleagues and I have commenced debate on the Governor’s proposed budget. Ohio’s tax revenues are projected to be at lower levels than previously forecasted, which allows the General Assembly the opportunity to offer ideas to shape state government into a more efficient operation. In Wayne County, we witnessed the positive effect that conservative budgeting of local government entities can have on the economy. As a former county commissioner, I worked with others to make responsible decisions to become leaner and more effective in our duties to the public. By implementing this experience into this role as your state representative, I plan to support a conservative budget that challenges state agencies to offer quality service while being responsible stewards of Ohio tax dollars.

In addition to the state budget, I have been placed on three committees important to our district and to the state of Ohio. As a member of the Financial Institutions, Housing and Urban Development Committee, I will be focused on promoting regulatory reform on financial institutions that both protects the consumer and provides entrepreneurs with much-needed financing to expand their businesses and create jobs in Ohio. The Energy and Natural Resources Committee will be focused on ensuring that an all-of-the-above energy approach is promoted and that reliable and affordable energy is available to all Ohioans and businesses. Finally, as a member of the Aging and Long-Term Care Committee, I look forward to working with my fellow committee members as we discuss legislation to improve the quality of life for senior citizens. It is estimated that one out of every four Wayne Countians is expected to be a senior by 2030. The work we accomplish in this committee will be extremely important for both short-term and long-term care of our state’s growing senior population.

You have bestowed upon me the highest honor of being your representation in the General Assembly during this pivotal point in our state’s history. Please feel free to contact my office so I can best serve your concerns.
