American National University Announces Partnership with Pikeville Medical Center

American National University is proud to announce a new collaboration with Pikeville Medical Center. As the largest hospital in southeastern Kentucky, Pikeville Medical Center has joined the Business Partnership Grant program to encourage its employees’ professional development through American National University. In exchange, those employed by Pikeville Medical Center will earn their education more affordably—for every $2 that Pikeville Medical Center pays in their employees’ tuition, American National University will match it with $1. “We are delighted for this partnership with Pikeville Medical Center,” says American National University President, Frank Longaker. “We will get the honor of educating these students to further develop their professional careers with Pikeville Medical Center.”

Pikeville Medical Center is a 348-bed regional referral center and Kentucky’s only level II trauma center that offers over 400 services, including every major specialty and many subspecialties, and features the region’s most advanced medical technology. Pikeville Medical Center employs more than 3,000 people and has nearly 400 credentialed healthcare providers. Pikeville Medical Center’s mission is “to advance the health and well-being of our region through comprehensive care in a Christian environment” and maintains the core values of quality, faith, inclusion, teamwork, integrity, and stewardship.

“Pikeville Medical Center’s Project HEART (Healthcare Employment around Regional Training) is helping to create obtainable career pathways in health care for the people in the region,” said Donovan Blackburn, President & CEO. “Through continued partnerships and funding, Pikeville Medical Center has taken great strides in improving education and healthcare in Eastern Kentucky.”

We are excited to be working with American National University and their Business Partnership Grant Program in which qualified Pikeville Medical Center employees may potentially receive financial assistance and tuition credit,” says James Glass, Vice President of External Technical Instruction. “This program can help our employees work toward achieving their academic and career goals.  We look forward to the opportunities this program will provide our employees and the potential impact it may have on the healthcare of our region.”

With our High Tech, High Touch™ approach to education, students can earn their diplomas 100% online from anywhere. There are no hidden fees, all materials, like at-home lab kits and books, are included in the tuition price. We know that our eLearning will provide an array of professional development to the Pikeville Medical Center employees—not only with our medical programs, but also our IT, business, and cybersecurity programs as well.
