Snow Emergency / Parking Ban

City of Cortland recently issued the following announcement.

Due to the Winter Storm Warning, the Mayor has declared a snow emergency/parking ban in effect from Wednesday, February 2nd at 6:00 p.m. until Saturday, February 5th at 12:00 p.m. Noon.

Residents should refrain from parking on the streets while there is an accumulation of snow/ice on the roadways.  This will allow the road crews to safely perform the snow removal duties and address safety of motorists using the roadways. During such emergency as stated in Section 351.14 of the City of Cortland’s Codified Ordinances:  No person shall park or cause to be parked or permit to suffer to remain parked any vehicle on City streets, with the exception of Main Street between State Route 5 and State Route 46 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. during any time or period when a snow emergency condition is declared.
